Overview:

ITP (Immune thrombocytopenia) is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system mistakes the platelets as being foreign and destroys them. 
Prevalence:  5.3 per 100,000 

MG (Myasthenia Gravis) is a neuromuscular disorder caused by an error in the transmission of nerve impulses to muscles. It occurs when normal communication between the nerve and muscle is interrupted at the neuromuscular junction.
Prevalence: 20 per 100,000

Methodology:

  • Physicians – All 60 min WATIS 
  • Patients – All 60 min WATIS with online/ paper diary homework 

Recruitment Method:

  • Physicians via networking and identifying Physicians who are likely to treat the conditions through published materials.
  • The key to the Patients  recruitment was through establishing strong relationships Charities, Support Groups and HCP referrals (where applicable) for referrals.
  • Using social media to contact patient influencers.
  • Timelines: 6-8 weeks recruitment
